Homelessness in Europe

Homelessness isn't just on our doorstep, it is a worldwide issue. Throughout different countries in Europe homelessness is an epidemic, however not many charities or organisations document just how many people face homelessness. It is very difficult to keep track of homelessness worldwide due to the definition I of homelessness changing from country to country. In 2005 in a survey completed by the UN an estimated 100 million people were homeless worldwide and this number could have only increased and 1.6 billion lacked adequate housing. In Europe alone in the last 10 years around 532,273,24 people are homeless or are residing in hostels. One organisation The Homeless world cup https://www.homelessworldcup.org/homelessness-statistics/… aims to help fight the epidemic of homelessness around the world. They partner with one homeless organisation per country in a homeless world cup and the chosen organisation acts as a co-coordinator for street football activity in their country. In an aim to share different knowledge, research, skills, coaching and broaden the network and communication on homelessness that the Homeless world cup provides. In 2016 the Homeless world cup was held in Glasgow. You yourself can donate a small sum of money towards the Homeless world cup by visiting their website at: https://www.homelessworldcup.org/
